White Family

Annina (Christian) White and daughter Alice

Mary Annina (Duggan) White was born at Prospect, N.S. 19 January 1895 the daughter of Patrick Edward and Mary Eleanor (Duggan) Christian She married Louis Samuel White, s/o Joseph and Ellen (Hardiman) White at Prospect on 25 October 1920. Mary Alice White their daughter was born in 1922.

Thomas Leaman White

Thomas Leaman White was born at Prospect, N.S. 6 March 1892 the son of Joseph and Ellen (Hardiman) White. He would marry Mary Magdalen Coolen and they would have four children. Leaman died 23 April 1957.

Alfred White and Joan Duggan Wedding

Alfred White was born at Prospect, N.S. ca. 1931 the son of Thomas Leaman and Mary Magdalen (Coolen) White. Joan Imelda Duggan was born at Prospect, N.S. ca. 1932 the daughter of George Earl and Louella Mary (Church) Duggan. This picture is at their wedding on 9 September 1951.

Michael White

Michael White was born at Prospect, N.S. 15 October 1843 the son of Stephen James and Margaret (Power) White. He died at Dartmouth, N.S. on 19 Octoebr 1909. He married Catherine Kerwick (see below).

Catherine (Kerwick) White

Catheirne (Kerwick) White was born at Prospect, N.S. 6 September 1846 the daughter of James and Catherine (Duggan) Kerwick. She married Michael White. She died at Dartmouth, N.S. 10 May 1906.

Margaret (Power) White

Margaret Power was born at Prospect, N.S. ca. 1824 the daughter of John and Mary (Mullins) Power. She married Stephen James White in 1842 and would have 12 children. She died at Halifax, N.S. on 29 October 1900.

Stephen Leo White

Stephen Leo White was born at Halifax, N.S. 21 July 1879 the son of Michael and Catherine (Kerwick) White. He married Mabel Frances Colbert in Lynn, Massachusetts and would die at Dartmouth, N.S. ca. 1944. He and Mabel would have 12 children.

John F. Wells and Children

John Francis Wells was born at Saint John, New Brunswick ca. 1862 the son of John and Christina (Peoples) Wells. He was the husband of Florence Margaret White, daughter of Samuel and Catherine (Duggan) White. Florence White was born at Prospect, N.S. 5 March 186 and died in the Halifax Explosion on 06 December 1917.

We know that at least one of the children in this photo is Hilda Mae Wells their daughter who was born at Halifax, N.S. 7 February 1898.

Eva Catherine White and others

This photo shows Eva Catherine White and her husband James RIchard Guest with other women. Eva Catherine White was the daughter of Samuel and Catherine (Duggan) White and was born at Prospect, N.S. ca. 1880. She married James Richard Guest, s/o Edward and Johanna (O'Brien) Guest in 1900. They would have 12 children. 

The White and Guest family was heavily affected by the Halifax Explosion on 6 December 1917. In total the extended family lost 17 members on that one day.
