Baptism and Marriage Indexes
Record keeping at Prospect began in September 1823 when John Loughnan was appointed the parish priest. There are a number of gaps in the records, specifically in the 1840s, and at times the actual entries are illegible due to the hand writing of the priest. When conducting research for families from Prospect you should consult other records such as St. Mary's/St. Peter's church at Halifax. Scattered throughout the records are a few burial records. The internment records have not been indexed.
